NZFSA accountability documents
As a Government Department, the New Zealand Food Safety Authority has a responsibility to report to Parliament and the public on our performance.
NZFSA’s Statement of Intent
The Statement of Intent is a government department’s main medium term (3–5 year) strategy document. On budget day the House of Representatives is presented with each department’s Statement of Intent.
NZFSA’s 2007 Statement of Intent describes our roles, activities and aspirations. It explains how we manage our resources and how we intend to measure our performance in meeting our responsibilities.

NZFSA’s Annual Report
NZFSA has been a stand-alone public service department since 1 July 2007. In 2008, we will publish our first Annual Report.
Our Annual Report will review the performance and operations for the previous financial year (1 July to 30 June). It will include financial statements for the year.
NZFSA’s first five years
Although not an accountability document, the report on our first five years includes the activities, achievements and challenges since NZFSA was set up on 1 July 2002.
