Import approvals

We have received a number of requests for certificates of Approval to Import Animal Remedies and Pesticides for Special Use. There is some confusion on what products require this certificate of approval. Only those products that are unfinished (i.e. may require repacking and/or relabelling) need an approval for the redirection to ACVM approved sites for the completion of the manufacturing operation. If your product is currently registered or licensed and is completely ready for sale in New Zealand you do not require an approval. These registered and licensed products are automatically notified to the border by the ACVM Group.

All provisional applications will automatically receive a certificate of approval, incurring the provisional fee only. In addition, when an application is made, it must be accompanied by the appropriate fee.
