Generally Recognised As Safe (GRAS) Substances

The ACVM website now has ‘Information Requirements for Classification of Substances Generally Recognised as Safe (GRAS)’. As substances are proposed for inclusion on the GRAS list, this document may be refined as issues arise, so we advise that interested readers should check the latest version regularly.

The initial list of substances proposed for inclusion on the ACVM GRAS list is now with the ACVM Group’s Expert Network for consideration and recommendation to the Director-General of MAF.
