Unlicensed Products

The ACVM Group has received a number of complaints about unlicensed products. Where there is sufficient information, the complaints are investigated (on behalf of the Animal Remedies and Pesticides Boards). Information to enable a class determination to be done is requested from the proprietor of the product. If the class determination finds that the product is not covered by the Act(s) or is exempt from the need to be registered or licensed, there is no charge. If it is found that the product must be licensed or registered, then the class determination is invoiced and the proprietor advised that the product must be removed from sale, and must not be advertised until the process is completed. Failure to comply with the Acts may lead to prosecution.
