- AVMAC: At the 15 November meeting AVMAC members endorsed a number of the VICH guidelines for inclusion into ACVM standards and guidelines, and they also endorsed a range of ACVM standards and guidelines that have completed consultation. There was discussion on the implementation of the ACVM Act and the guiding principles for the transition of products to the new legislation. The notes from the AVMAC meeting will be available soon on the website.
- Annual reports for the Animal Remedies and Pesticides Boards have been submitted to Parliament and are available on the website under Forums / Boards / Annual reports.
- 2,4-D review: The expert panel set up by the Pesticides Board to review any new information on 2,4-D and to make recommendations if the registration status or the conditions on registration require any change has now reported back. (The panel had members from ERMA New Zealand, the Ministry of Health, MAF and OSH.) The finding was that there is no need for a review at this time. The report of the expert panel, along with a summary of submissions, can be found on the ACVM website using the site A-Z function.
- Risk assessment process: Following feedback received at recent workshops, some changes have been made to the ACVM risk assessment methodology. The revised version is available on the website.
- ARPPA AGM: Maree Zinzley (ACVM Customer Services Manager) and Debbie Morris (Director ACVM Group) attended the ARPPA AGM held in Auckland on 21 November. Debbie Morris gave a presentation on the registration process covering the changes that have been made over the last 12 months.
