Streamlining importation of fertilisers
As part of the ACVM Group’s effort to facilitate importation of exempt groups of products, we have worked with MAF Quarantine Services to clarify the definitions of fertilisers and fertiliser additives as well as the kinds of claims that can be made about exempt products. Border officials will use these to determine whether the product meets exemption criteria and can be released or whether the ACVM Group should be contacted for further advice. Please note:
• it is still the importer’s responsibility to meet the conditions for exemption
• Biosecurity and ERMA New Zealand may have additional requirements that must be met.
