Operations update

Since the NZFSA restructure last year, the Approvals and ACVM Group has been working to ‘cross-skill’ staff for several reasons:

More staff will be available to handle exceptionally high workloads in any one area, e.g. the number of ACVM applications continues to be high.

It will be easier to meet legislated timeframes and provide clients with faster service.

Staff will have more job variety and interest.

To date, training for Advisors has included courses in Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and Risk Management Programmes (RMPs). Training is also being given in Food Safety Programmes (FSP), which are especially relevant to dairy product approvals.
