Codex Committee on Pesticide Residues (CCPR) –China 2007

The 39th session of CCPR will be held in China from 7 - 12 May. This will be the first session held by the new secretariat (China) for this committee, which has taken over from The Netherlands.

Approximately 60 countries belong to CCPR. One of its main roles is to establish maximum residue limits (MRLs) for pesticides in various commodities, thus facilitating trade between countries. In addition, the CCPR develops risk assessment and risk management procedures associated with pesticide residues in food in international trade. As in previous years, New Zealand will be represented at the meeting.
