Mystery Creek Fieldays

A number of ACVM Group staff attended the recent Mystery Creek Fieldays and visited many exhibitors to confirm compliance of agricultural chemicals and veterinary medicine products.

To ensure compliance, the ACVM Group begins by providing education to companies who are unfamiliar with their obligations under the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997 and are marketing ACVM products. Brochures were handed out to interested parties. (A copy of this can be downloaded from our website-see 'Other Useful Links'.) We were very pleased to see a reduction in the number of non-compliances this year. It appears the message is getting through!

Some non-compliant products were identified at the Fieldays, so the Group will take action as needed to rectify these issues.

The main area where there was room for compliance improvement was with herbal and homeopathic veterinary medicines. A high degree of compliance was evident for the larger veterinary medicine and plant compound marketing companies.

Members of the Group enjoyed talking with many registrants, including Nufarm, Adria, AgriSea, Bellbooth, Donaghys, and Homeopathic Farm Services. The ACVM Fieldays team considered the two days of meeting industry people behind product marketing and helping them to become more aware of their requirements under the Act were extremely valuable.
