Staff update
Eve Menzies (Coordinator Operations)
"I am a recent university graduate, having obtained a conjoint degree majoring in Philosophy and Biology. During my time at uni I developed a keen interest in the field of bioethics, which isn't surprising considering my rather embarrassing fondness for science fiction (yes, that includes old Star Trek re-runs).
Unlike most people who go to university and then venture out on a big OE, I did things the other way around and started my OE after leaving school. I spent four years in England, mostly working as a care assistant for the elderly and physically disabled.
As far as hobbies go, I enjoy tramping and gardening. And while not really a hobby, I have an inordinate fondness for animals. This is perhaps best illustrated by the fact that I intend to fulfil my lifelong dream of having a house pig (a lap pig) at some point in the not-too-distant future."
Helen Connor (Advisor ACVM and Non-Food Products)
Helen, who is filling the gap created with Simon Ellery's move to the food products side of the Group, says: "I studied for four years at Otago University doing a BSc (Hons), majoring in Food Science.
Since finishing university three years ago, I have worked in Christchurch and on the Gold Coast doing Quality Control writing and implementing HACCP manuals.
My favourite activities are tennis, touch rugby and aerobics classes, and I especially enjoy shopping!!!!"
