Alignment with Australia

NZFSA is working on a comparison of Australian and New Zealand chemistry standards for plant compounds and veterinary medicines. A report should be completed for the next meeting with the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA).

NZFSA is also working on a proposal for New Zealand registration for certain products based on APVMA registrations. We expect to be able to raise the idea at the next APVMA meeting. Whether or not reciprocation is possible will be an agenda item at the next meeting.

Most other work in the alignment project (comparison of products and commissioning comparisons of standards, industry consideration of claims for nutritional products) is with APVMA at present.
