MRL update

The second amendment to the maximum residue limit (MRL) standard for 2007 came into effect on 29 November 2007 and included the following MRLs into Schedule 1:

The following MRL exemptions were also included into Schedules 2 and 3:

Public consultation

Soon the third amendment to the MRL standard for 2007 will be submitted for public consultation. This round will also seek to consolidate the MRL standard and all of its 2007 amendments into the 2008 MRL standard. The proposed MRLs will be available on the NZFSA website for comment in the near future.

In addition, because certain agricultural chemical uses are becoming redundant, it is proposed to delete the following MRLs from the standard:

The deleted MRL for azinphos-methyl on vegetables will be replaced with an MRL of 0.05mg/kg* for potatoes to represent the remaining use patterns.
