Graham Butler

It is with sadness that we advise Graham Butler passed away in late December 2007. Dr Butler retired recently from his membership on the ACVM Group’s Technical Consultative Committees. Over many years he contributed significantly in the regulation of pesticides and agricultural compounds, ensuring that science was the primary focus.

Graham was also a constant member of the technical and advisory committees that serviced the Agricultural Chemicals Board and then the Pesticides Board. He gave the pesticides regulatory agency the benefits of his extensive expertise/experience and contributed to the robustness of the Board's decision-making over the years. Graham continued to give the pesticides regulatory process the benefit of his great wisdom up to late last year. All who interacted with him on the expert committees admired his expertise and hugely appreciated the wisdom of his advice, which always reflected the latest in scientific thinking. He will be greatly missed.
