Approvals and ACVM Group Charter

From the Director

AgVetLink has been one of the ACVM Group's main tools for communicating information to registrants, manufacturers, veterinarians, and the general public for the past ten years. During this time, a regular issue has been published every two months and several special issues have been produced. Although printed versions have been sent to registrants and other interested parties, the electronic versions on the website have become increasingly popular.

This popularity has led us to examine the way AgVetLink could be used more effectively and we are proposing several changes. First of all, it will become an 'electronic-only' newsletter, available on the ACVM website. Although initially there will be little difference in the look of the newsletter, freedom from a two-monthly publication schedule will mean that information can be posted on the website as it comes to hand. Also, it will not need to be a set number of pages to meet printing requirements.

The second change will be to divide up the content. As the year progresses it is intended to develop more special interest pages on the website so that registrants, manufacturers, traders etc will have their own spots where information that is relevant to them is posted. (At present there is a site for veterinarians, and it will be updated.) By subscribing to the website notification service, people will be contacted by email when a new item is uploaded to 'their' page.

We are including suggestions from the last ACVM customer survey in the plan to make our website more user-friendly and effective. Proposed changes to AgVetLink are part of that overall plan, and we welcome your input. Please email any comments to Vivienne Turner (details below).
