Amendment 1: Code of Practice: Processing of Bee Products Part 2: Good Manufacturing Practice

1 Background
1.1 This section provides details of legislative requirements for bee products processing, industry agreed procedures which if followed ensure compliance with legislative requirements and advice.
1.2 Please note that the draft sections handed out at workshops in March 2006 have different numbering from this final version amendment. If you have a template risk management programme and it refers to this draft version, please amend the COP document list in your copy of the RMP to refer to the correct sections of this amendment. This constitutes a minor amendment and does not need to be notified to NZFSA.
2 Amendment Details
2.1 This amendment incorporates changes consequential to the Human Consumption Specifications Amendment relating to bee products and to potable water. It also makes minor changes to most sections of the COP to provide greater clarity and correct typographical mistakes in the original. Sections that have significant changes are: Section 4 (Potable Water), Section 10.2 (Mandatory requirements – Processing of Honey and Dried Pollen) and Appendix 2 (Potable Water Checklist)
2.2 Appendix 1 to Part 2 (Example Pre-Season Checklist) should remain as the original July 2005 version.
2.3 Please sign off and date the Amendment Record, and file this update letter in the back of your publication for quick reference.
