Escherichia Coli O157:H7 Technical Procedures For Bulk Manufacturing Beef and Bobby Veal in US-Listed Slaughter Operations and Packhouses

The New Zealand meat industry has agreed that a sampling programme for Escherichia coli O157:H7will be applied to all bulk manufacturing beef and bobby veal for export to the United States.

The E. coli O157:H7 test programme has been integrated into New Zealand's current national meat quality assurance programmes, the National Microbiological Database (NMD) and Laboratory Approval Scheme (LAS), so as to benefit from those infrastructures and make best use of current laboratory and sample collection resources.
