Dual Operator Butchers

The following provides information relevant to dual operator butchers.

Under the Animal Products Act 1999 the dual operator butchers are required to register a risk management programme (RMP) before commencing processing.  A dual operator butcher is a retail butcher who also provides homekill and recreational catch services at the same premises or place.

Existing businesses are required to move to the Animal Products Act by 1 July 2005.
