Overseas Market Access Requirements

Under section 60 of the Animal Products Act 1999, the Director-General has notified the following overseas market access requirements for exported animal material or animal product that New Zealand has agreed to meet:

Products from mammals and birds (eg meat, game, poultry)

The requirements given in MAF Manual 12, Overseas Requirements and Certification, Part IV, Country Listings, Part V, Countries, National Microbiological Database (Bovine, Ovine & Bobby Calf) Technical Procedures and the relevant technical directives.

Products from fish (including shellfish, crustaceans)

The requirements given in New Zealand Fishing Industry Agreed Implementation Standard, 002.4, Specific Country Requirements Circular 1995.

Other products from mammals and birds (eg skins and hides, wool)

The requirements given in MAF Manual 12, Overseas Requirements and Certification and MAF International Trade files.

Game trophies.

The requirements given in MAF International Trade files, 4th Floor, ASB Bank House, 101-103 The Terrace, Wellington.

Products from bees

The requirements given in MAF Export Certification of Bees Honey and Bee Product Manual and MAF International Trade files, 4th floor, ASB Bank House, 101-103 The Terrace, Wellington and electronically in I:/MAF BIOSECURITY/AB Export Standards/Export Certificates

Egg products

The requirements given in MAF International Trade files, 4th floor, ASB Bank House, 101-103 The Terrace, Wellington and electronically in I:/MAF BIOSECURITY/AB Export Standards/Export Certificates

Live animals

The requirements given in MAF International Trade files, 4th floor, ASB Bank House, 101-103 The Terrace, Wellington and electronically in I:/MAF BIOSECURITY/AB Export Standards/Export Certificates. Animals import/export website.

The documents may be accessed through the MAF website at http://www.maf.govt.nz or they may be inspected at MAF Head Office, ASB Bank House, 101 – 103 The Terrace, Wellington during 8 am – 5 pm weekdays.

Any new overseas market access requirements or modifications or revocations of overseas market access requirements will be notified in the same manner.
