Approval of Templates, Models, Codes of Practice Statement Policy
This Statement of Policy relates to the Animal Products Act as amended in 2002. In March 2003 the NZFSA commenced a review of the New Zealand's Domestic Food Regulatory Programme. One purpose of the review is to establish a coherent and seamless Food Regulatory Programme that will apply across all food produced, imported and sold in New Zealand. The concepts and procedures discussed in this statement of policy may be reviewed or amended in light of the outcome of the Domestic Food Review.

Where an egg primary processor uses the approved Egg RMP Template for their RMP they are exempt from the need to have an on-site assessment as part of the evaluation of the RMP. This is provided certain conditions are met. Further details can be found in the Notice Exempting Egg Primary Processors from the need for an on-site assessment (see below)
