Proposed Changes to the Regulation of Dietary Supplements
3 Purpose
This Paper describes the proposal to create a new set of regulations, the Complementary Food Regulations, to:
• regulate food-type dietary supplements only; and
• align food-type dietary supplements more closely with the Code to provide transitional regulatory coverage until appropriate permissions in the Code are available; and
• make explicit current obligations under the Food Hygiene Regulations (1974).
