Pan Pharmaceuticals Ltd Recall Instructions to Sellers / Retailers

The Minister for Food Safety, under section 40 of the Food Act 1981, has directed all sellers, distributors and importers of products manufactured by Pan Pharmaceuticals Limited of Australia, to immediately stop the sale and distribution of those products and to retain those products in safe custody until further notice.

The scope of the recall is limited to products manufactured by Pan Pharmaceuticals Ltd since 1 May 2001. A complete listing of recalled products is posted on the NZFSA website (www.nzfsa.govt.nz).

Action to be taken immediately

The purpose of this instruction sheet is to provide you with information on how to meet your obligations under section 40(b) of the Food Act. You should:

1. Check the recall notices issued by the Minister of Food Safety for products in your possession (www.nzfsa.govt.nz).
   
   
2. Remove products produced by Pan Pharmaceuticals Ltd from distribution and sale.
   
   
3. Ensure all products are held in safe custody. This means that product is:  
   • Contained or quarantined (stored in a secure place, separated from all other products).
   • Labelled clearly "Not for use" or similar
     
     
4. Comply with directions issued by your distributor/supplier(s), on how to return the affected product. If you have not been issued with instructions on returning product, please contact your distributor/supplier to request this information. You must confirm that you have followed the instructions given by completing form (b) and returning it to the NZFSA by either fax or post.
