Animal Products E-cert Help Files

Search Archive

Archiving is a function that removes EDs and Export certificates with specific statuses from the active Live E-cert system and places them in an archive system. This means that they no longer show up in the normal search results. To find them you must use the Search Archive screen.

Revoked and Cancelled EDs and export certificates are archived 7 days after cancellation or revocation. Approved or Accepted export certificates are archived after 6 months (12 months for certificates to Mexico) and Exhausted EDs are archived after 15 weeks.

Archived certificates can be restored to the Live system when necessary by industry and VA users. Neither the historical views nor the exhaustion reports are restored as they are not retained in the archive. To restore the archived certificate click the Restore button at the top right of the screen when viewing the certificate.

Enter the reason why the certificate is being restored in the “Restore Note” field in the dialog box then click the submit button.

If the restored certificate is not actioned in any way after being restored (eg unexhausting an ED) then it will be re-archived the following day.
