About Us
Public Health Units (PHU) throughout New Zealand are responsible for the surveillance of imported food, ceramicware and metal food containers as set by the NZFSA Standard Management Rules.
The NZFSA requires persons who import, manufacture, store, transport, prepare for sale, or sell any food to provide appropriate evidence that the risks associated with the high risk food, ceramicware and metal food containers have been controlled.
