Risk management programmes (RMPs)

If you process animal products, you may need a risk management programme (RMP). Your RMP describes how you will process your products to meet the requirements of the Animal Products Act 1999. This is to ensure the products you sell are safe, wholesome and truthfully labelled ('fit for purpose').

If you're new to RMPs, or want to find out more, read this overview. RMP manual and amendments, templates, codes of practice, forms, and information pamphlets. Registered RMPs, recognised persons (evaluators and verifiers), recognised agencies, and RMP evaluators. There are 2 types of fees for RMPs: application fees, and annual programme charges.
How to create and validate your RMP and get it evaluated. You must register your RMP with NZFSA before starting production. Your RMP must be regularly verified by an NZFSA-recognised verifier. How to run your RMP, change it, or end it, and when NZFSA can suspend or deregister your RMP.
