Seafood

If you produce, process or sell seafood, there are legal requirements you must meet.

Harvesting, processing and storing fish and other seafood, on land, inshore, and at sea. Farming, harvesting, processing and storing bivalve molluscan shellfish (BMS). Includes seafood and BMS standards, specifications, notices, manuals, codes of practice, guidance and forms. For seafood notifications subscribe to Animal products.
All seafood primary processors must operate under a risk management programme (RMP), unless exempt. Seafood must be stored at a certain temperature. Fish and fish products for human consumption have specific fish name labelling requirements for both the NZ and export markets. Registers and lists for seafood and BMS.
