This discussion paper outlines the New Zealand Food Safety Authority’s (NZFSA) proposal to amend the current BSE Country-Categorisation Measure1, which was put in place to manage the human health risks from bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) in imported bovine meat or products containing bovine meat that are to be sold for human consumption. NZFSA is seeking comments on this proposed BSE Country Categorisation Measure.
