Making wine If you make or package grape wine, fruit wine, cider or mead for trade (including export) you have legal obligations under the Wine Act. Verification If you are a wine verifier or have a wine standards management plan, you need to be familiar with the verification system including becoming a verifier, performing verification, reporting requirements and guidance. Commodity suppliers (grapes, fruit, vegetables, honey) If you supply grapes, fruit, vegetables or honey for winemaking, you have legal obligations under the Wine Act. Exporting wine There are different requirements for exporters of New Zealand grape wine and exporters of other wines. Importing wine If you import wine into New Zealand, you have two main obligations - correct labelling, and importer listing.
