Wine

If you are a winemaker, wine exporter, wine importer, or wine verifier, here are the standards and other legal requirements that you need to follow.

If you make or package grape wine, fruit wine, cider or mead for trade (including export) you have legal obligations under the Wine Act.
If you are a wine verifier or have a wine standards management plan, you need to be familiar with the verification system including becoming a verifier, performing verification, reporting requirements and guidance.
If you supply grapes, fruit, vegetables or honey for winemaking, you have legal obligations under the Wine Act.

  There are different requirements for exporters of New Zealand grape wine and exporters of other wines.
Labelling and composition standards are included in several pieces of wine legislation. This page brings them all together.
If you import wine into New Zealand, you have two main obligations -  correct labelling, and importer listing. The Wine Act, the Food Standards Code, regulations, specifications, notices, approvals and waivers.
Includes lists of recognised persons and agencies, wine exporters, winemakers exempt from having a wine standards management plan, laboratories for water testing. Also databases of pesticide maximum residue limits.
