Exporting wine
If you export wine (grape wine, fruit wine, vegetable wine, cider or mead) you need to meet the requirements of the Wine Act 2003.
The Wine Act aims to facilitate wine exports by:
• ensuring the safety of New Zealand-made wine
• safeguarding the reputation of New Zealand wine in overseas markets. This is done by setting export eligibility requirements.
• enabling entry of New Zealand wine into markets that require official export certificates. These documents are issued by NZFSA.
For the objectives of the Wine Act 2003, see section 3 of the Act.
