Fees, charges and funding - Wine for export
Fees and charges are set to enable NZFSA to administer the wine export systems under the Wine Act 2003.
Fees and charges – New Zealand grape wine for export
Fees and charges for wine testing are set out in the Wine Regulations 2006. See the schedule of Fees and Charges in section 15 of the Wine Regulations below.
The wine export programme for New Zealand grape wine is currently supported by a limited amount of Crown money. Crown funding supports the cost of:
• evaluation of wine batches to determine if they meet the export eligibility requirements
• issuing export eligibility statements for New Zealand grape wine consignments exported from New Zealand
• issuing official assurances for wine consignments exported from New Zealand
• laboratory testing for wine destined for the European Union
Crown funding for wine laboratory analysis
From July 2009 NZFSA will pay actual costs of laboratory testing for the EU up to a notified maximum value.
Fees and charges – non-New Zealand grape wine for export
You pay an annual fee to register as an exporter of non-New Zealand grape wine. The fee is stated on the application form.
