Wine - Importing wine
If you import wine into New Zealand, you must ensure that the product is correctly labelled and that you are listed as a wine importer. In addition, there may be other general requirements that you need to meet. Please refer to the overview for importing for further information.

You need to ensure all wine you import meets labelling and composition standards of the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code.

Importer listing
You also need to be listed with NZFSA as a wine importer.
There are two ways to do this. You can apply online to be listed as an importer:

Or you can contact NZFSA with your details.
You must provide all the following information:
• full name
• registered legal name
• trading name
• company registration number (if applicable)
• physical address for service
• postal address for service
• contact person’s name and contact details
• New Zealand Customs Service client code number.
