Waiver of Fees and Charges: Wine Regulations 2006

Under section 84(1) of the Wine Act 2003 (the Act) the Director-General must take all reasonable steps to ensure that so many of the direct and indirect costs of administering the Act as are not provided for by money appropriated by Parliament for the purpose are recovered by way of fees, levies, or other charges.

The Wine Regulations 2006 (the Regulations) are made under the Act and its Schedule sets out certain fees and charges payable under the Regulations.

The Director–General of Agriculture and Forestry is empowered under regulation 17 to waive, in whole or in part, any fee or charge specified in the Schedule to the Regulations in any appropriate case or class of cases.

Under regulation 17 of the Regulations, I now waive in whole the following fees and charges payable under the Regulations:

Application to determine whether wine eligible for export

Per application

$23.63

Statement of confirmation that wine eligible for export

Per confirmation

$6.75

Issue of official assurance

Per certificate

$10.08

This waiver is granted as the result of Parliament appropriating money for the purpose of these costs.

This waiver takes effect on 1 July 2006 and will apply until 30 June 2007, both dates inclusive.

Dated at Wellington this 4th day of July 2006.
